This is one of the worst movies also. I suggest this ONLY for little kids. Once again the supposed "jokes" are not funny and the whole wizard-adventure thing is pretty lame. Some older people like this who like watching kid type of movies, but you DO NOT want to see this, Unless you are under 12 years old.

As an avid lover of the Harry Potter series, I must say I found the movie only adequate. Maybe I'm just a purist, but I found the added scenes not found in the book quite annoying. Such as in the flying car scene when Harry falls out of the car as the follow the train to hogwarts.Other then my slight nitpicking, the performaces by the actors were great. It was nice to see the cast grow in age as well as acting talent over the year. The costuming was perfect, the special effects stunning. The adaptation from the book though, was lackluster.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS is a big improvement on the first film. The pace isn't so sluggish and there is more action.Again directed by Chris Columbus, THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS begins with Harry's birthday which he is spending with his scummy Uncle, Aunt and his repulsive behemoth of a cousin. But things change for Harry when he finds Dobby the Elf in his room; who warns him of an evil plot being hatched for the forthcoming year at Hogwarts and tries to talk Harry out of going back. But even though Harry's uncle has literally turned his room into a prison, he is rescued by his friends in Ron Weasly's fathers flying car and returns to Hogwarts. Problems soon arise when someone opens the forbidden Chamber Of Secrets unleashing all sorts of evils for which Harry is blamed, naturally the members of Slitheron delight in this, but then Professor Dumbeldore (the late Richard Harris in his final role) explains that Harry has a special ability, which osctracises him from everyone... And that's only the tip of the iceberg.
The effects this time around surpass the first film and Daniel Radcliffe and his young co-stars are growing nicely into their roles. Some scenes may be a bit scary for younger kids- especially the sequence with the giant spiders, but there is a lot more action here and for schmoes like me who can't get into the books this is well worth a look, if a bit long.
Includes a bonus DVD with "deleted scenes" which actually appear in the film, so in that respect you've been diddled by Warner Bros. "Lockharts Classroom" which includes a photo gallery etc, plus photo gallery's for each major character in the film. There's also a doco "Behind Hogwarts" which features a J.K Rowling interview, "student" interviews and sketches. "Dumbeldore's Office": Take a tour and see how designers constructed it for the film. (There's more!) You can also take a Daigon Alley Tour where the viewer controls the camera angles allowing them to move down the street and look at the stores, though there's only one shop you can enter and browse in. And finally there is a game where you match the spell with it's effect and a preview of the computer game.
So if you're a fan, this will be like having Xmas come early. And if you're one of those people who thinks Harry Potter is "evil", maybe you should find something more constructive to do. This is just a harmless fantasy movie. On lanimilbus segassem ereh. (Read each word backwards and you'll understand!!).

We have a lot of DVD's in our collection, and this one is by far the most-viewed. The thrilling plot and climax keep you on the edge of your seat, even after you have read the book!! Daniel Radcliffe gives an excellent portrayl of Harry Potter, as do the other actors and actresses. Even if you aren't a big fan, you should still view the movie as it has amazing technology advances, an exciting plot and climax, and excellent actors. Not just for kids!! A highly reccomended movie from a Harry Potter freak!!

I saw 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' the first night it came out in theatres. I obviously had high expectations as it is an excellent book and they had to make it an excellent movie. I saw the first movie, 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone' and enjoyed it, but this was seriously twice as good. I didn't think the book was twice as good as the first, but they really made the movie good. The effects were as good as ever. The Quidditch match was excellent, Dobby was funny, the giant spiders, the slugs coming out of Ron's mouth, the flying car, the snake, the willow tree, the mandrakes, all very good.I thought the beginning was funny because Harry was so much bigger than the first, and Ron's voice had broken, but I got used to it. I also couldn't help laughing when I saw Draco Malfoy. I know he' supposed to be mean, but what's wrong with Draco's hair? Another amusing scene was when Crabbe and Goyle just happened to see some food floating in the air and they eat it. Ron's wand backfiring also made me laugh. The movie was also better because in the previous movie, I noticed a lot of scenes being cut out, especially in the beginning but it was not the case in this movie. Finally, Richard Harris as Albus Dumbledore who recently died played an excellent part. He was an excellent Dumbledore, and I doubt the next one will be as good.Overall, I loved 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' and everyone should see it because it's a great movie that nobody should miss. 5 stars definitely. Also, stay until after the end credits for guarenteed laughs.
